Filament Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to everyone who uses the Filament Service, including Authorized Users of the Staff Console and visitors to any Congregation Site. It is part of the Terms of Service. Capitalized terms have the meanings given there. The Church is responsible for compliance by its Authorized Users.

2.1 Prohibited Content

You may not use the Service to link, generate, publish, or distribute content that:

• you do not have the right to use, including sermon videos, audio, or channels that belong to someone other than the Church;
• infringes or misappropriates any copyright, trademark, or other right, including the text of a copyrighted Bible translation used beyond the publisher's permitted terms without permission;
• is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or threatening, or that promotes violence against any person or group;
• contains personal information about a third party without authorization;
• contains malware or other harmful code.

2.2 Prohibited Conduct

You may not:

• direct the Service to retrieve or process content from a YouTube channel or source the Church does not own or control;
• submit non-sermon or bulk content for the purpose of consuming processing capacity, or otherwise circumvent rate limits or usage controls;
• access, or attempt to access, another church's account, Staff Console, or content;
• share the staff password with anyone who is not an Authorized User;
• scrape, crawl, or bulk-download content from any Congregation Site other than your own by automated means;
• probe, scan, or test the Service's security, or attempt to bypass any access control;
• reverse engineer the Service or use it to build a competing product;
• use the Service to send unsolicited messages or for any purpose unrelated to the Church's ministry.

2.3 Staff Console Responsibilities

Authorized Users are responsible for the content displayed on the Church's Congregation Site. In particular, an Authorized User should:

• review Automated Content (summaries, themes, and scripture references) after it is Published, and edit or hide any item that is inaccurate or does not reflect what the Church intends to communicate to its congregation;
• approve Reviewed Content (study guides) only after reading it, confirming that scripture references are correct and that the content reflects the Church's teaching;
• not add the text of a copyrighted Bible translation to any content beyond that publisher's gratis-use terms.

2.4 Congregation Site Use

Visitors to a Congregation Site may view Published Content for personal, non-commercial use. Visitors may not republish Published Content elsewhere without the Church's permission. Rights in Published Content belong to the Church.

2.5 Enforcement

Filament may investigate suspected violations and may remove content, suspend Staff Console access, or terminate an account, with notice where practicable. Filament will consider the severity of the violation, whether it was intentional, and the risk to other customers or third parties. Filament may report unlawful activity to law enforcement.

2.6 Repeat Infringers

Filament will terminate the accounts of users who are repeat infringers of copyright, as described in the Copyright Policy.
